" Would this be the Fourth Wave of Feminism? "
Are we entering the fourth wave of feminism? What would the 4th wave look like? Lately, I can't help but feel feminists are finally getting what they want but through a Marxist POV.
Question? How did women's suffrage turn into men's suffrage?
I don't think this would sit right with Elizabeth Candy Stanton (1815-1902). Stanton was one of the most well-known leaders of the suffering movement during the "First Wave". Nor would the hard-working visionaries up until now sit around idle as men dipped in the Kool-Aid yet again. At the risk of mansplaining my point of view, I'll take the hit on this one and say this is simply an educated neutral man's opinion. That being said. How is a strong independent woman brought up in this day and age (generation), supposed to feel about men taking praise and grace as they identify as a female to gain leverage in the female category/ group/bracket/division.....
According to Deanna D Sellnow, patriarchy is a social system in which men hold primary power and authority, and women are largely excluded from positions of power and decision-making. This system is deeply rooted in cultural and societal norms and is perpetuated through various institutions and practices, including language and communication.
Masculine hegemony, on the other hand, refers to the cultural dominance of masculine norms and values, which are often associated with strength, aggression, and competitiveness. This dominance is expressed through various practice communication practices and social institutions, including the media, politics, and the workplace, and can hurt women's participation and representation in the spheres.
Perhaps the feminist yell is another cry for help, perhaps women have once again been dominated by a patriarchy that will never end.
